Summary
They’re in his bathroom. Peeta has set Katniss down on the edge of the counter and now she watches him as leans forward to check the temperature of the bath.
The girl on fire is still trembling from the cold, and when she catches sight of herself in the mirror, she sees near-blue lips and haunted eyes, blood smeared across her cheekbones and hands. She looks like something insane, something feral.
She stands there before Peeta, suddenly self conscious about the way she must look under his gaze. Her skin looks as if it’s been stretched over her bones, Katniss Everdeen is gaunt, sinewy , rough at the edges, and she’s healed wrong so many times in the past few years that her body is a patchwork of old fractures and burns that are still slightly pink.
Katniss wonders how Peeta can even recognise her like this.
Based on the prompt:
Could you write a oneshot AU type thing where when Peeta comes back to Twelve after the war, instead of planting primroses or maybe after he plants them, he takes Katniss upstairs and gives her a long bath and washes her body for her. A bit more of an intimate parallel to her bathing him in their first games?

Things get complicated when Bucky finds himself inconveniently attracted to their mechanical engineer, however. Tony Stark is funny, competent, and absolutely captivating, but considering NASA's strict non-fraternization policy, Bucky knows it's better to keep his interest to himself — at least until they return to Earth. He can wait.
Not once does Bucky consider the possibility that all of them might not make it back alive, or just how much he'll come to regret not acting when he had the chance.
