Summary
“I’m not a man that’s comfortable being in debt.”
The Breton looked Kaidan up and down with a quirked eyebrow, “You're not in debt. You don't owe me for getting you out of there.” She turned away from him, waving a hand at him dismissively as they stood atop the bridge above the prison escape hatch. “Consider our business through. I’ve no interest in a follower.” It didn't sit well with him. He owed her a life debt, why was she so resistant to him repaying it? “Please, let me travel with you. Protect you. At least until my debt is repaid.”
He couldn’t shake the feeling that if he were to leave, something terrible would happen to the woman that saved his life.

Summary
Your name is Karkat Vantas and you are no stranger to fucking up.
You have an absolutely moronic and self-sabotory predisposition for feeling first and thinking later that has gotten you into shitstorm after unrelenting shitstorm over the past nine sweeps of your regrettable and deeply pitiful life.
But this… this takes the cake.
You’ve defected from the Alternian military. NO ONE defects from the Alternian military.
It's a miracle you've lasted this long.

Summary
Eridan's brows furrow upward as you brush past. He follows you in silence to your respiteblock, and when you hand him a shirt out of your closet, he frowns at it and picks at the buttons. "Kar? Is this..." He looks up at you, swallows hard, and drops his gaze. "Is this what I think it is?"
Your guts do a funny wobbly thing. "Yes, Eridan, that is indeed a shirt," you say in an attempt to lighten the suddenly uneasy mood.
