Connor had only glanced back to Jude, his expression so lost, Jude had had to clench his hands into fists just so he could stop himself from asking the paramedics if he could ride along.

He noticed more than let on. Which included all of the drama happening with every member of his new family. Jude knew it was their stuff to deal with, but just knowing about it was tiring and it wasn’t like he could turn off his brain. The added stress of that along with his drama was sometimes too much and he wondered how he’d handle it if it did turn out that his one real friendship was cut off.
