The question dropped into the water heavily. Yoonchae looked at the ripples, then at Eunchae. For a moment, Yoonchae thought of Megan, of Nayoon’s message.
“Does it matter tonight?” Yoonchae didn’t answer the question directly.

Summary
Megan and Yoonchae were inseparable. If you asked about one, you'd find the other. They had promised to be together forever, but when Megan is about to get married and Yoonchae is her maid of honor, the latter doesn't understand why she's not even a little bit happy that HER best friend, HER girl, is with someone other than her. After mulling it over, the night before the wedding, she decides to confess everything she feels, without considering that it would change the course of their lives.
And it certainly did... Because today, years after the wedding, Yoonchae has become a great lawyer, but Megan hasn't been there to see her evolve, as she fled as soon as she confessed to her best friend, without knowing anything about her or her married life.
And even though Yoonchae carries her in every sigh and every step she takes, she feels ashamed of her decision to the point of not wanting to resume their friendship, no matter how valuable it was.When work matters cause Yoonchae to move to Los Angeles, thinking she'll leave Megan behind too, she doesn't know that fate is about to play a cruel trick on her, and that her best friend would be MUCH closer than she could ever imagine.

Yoonchae had been told her entire life that she would present as an omega, which was mostly fine by her. She could grapple with the idea of that, it was simple really. She would find a mate, have pups and fulfill all the rest of the duties her pack would ask of her just for presenting as an omega, it was fine. She could deal with that.
But what happens when the thing that you had been led to believe your entire life changes?
Well, she's going to find out.
