When your wanderlust carries you to a remote and eerily time-frozen village nestled in the Carpathian mountains, your only concern is finding a bed and work. Something that — you are assured by the local carpenter and his fearful daughter — can be found among the vast array of turrets casting a watchful eye over the shambled houses below. You quickly discover life at Castle Dimitrescu to be a waking nightmare, gruesome and shrouded in mystery. Why do the villagers accept the horrors within? Why are only women permitted entry? Who are Lady Dimitrescu's strange and lethal daughters — and why has the towering, beautiful and tyrannical countess taken a frightening interest in you?
Disclaimer: this story was fully planned out in February 2021, long before we knew anything significant about Lady Dimitrescu and her girls (and at a time I admittedly knew absolutely nothing about Resident Evil). As such, this has little to do with the canon of the game and contains backstories, characterisations, village history, and original characters that are completely my own fabrication. Please enjoy.
