Summary
Everything is fine now. Esther has been defeated. The agency is back in London, now with two new human members and a crow-turned-boy-turned-ghost on its (nonexistent) payroll. Edwin and Charles have worked things out between them and are utterly, annoyingly besotted with each other.
So why does it feel like Monty's life just keeps getting more complicated?

“Um… it’s fine, really,” Monty pulls away, taking two steps back. “No big deal.” The pain is still there, just less now. He swears he can feel more coughs trying to claw their way back up his throat. He swallows.
Charles raises an eyebrow.
“Well, I’m Esther’s familiar and we’re linked- I’m sure you know about familiars- but now that she’s dead, I might be dying.” He says it with a forced smile, punctuating the sentence with jazz hands to lighten the mood.
