Summary
The captain of the ship hasn’t granted her an audience yet, despite Nancy’s repeated requests for one. The captain’s underlings have been flitting here and there, going about their own business as if they hadn’t just waylayed the ship Nancy had been on. She knows that she should be saddened by what happened, that she should mourn those who lost their lives in the fight, but after one of them had shoved her at the pirates, saying, “Take the rich girl and leave us alone!” she can’t bring herself to shed a tear for any of them.
“I demand to speak to the captain of this vessel,” she tries again, her voice hoarse from use and lack of water, “which is my right. I have a right to know where you are taking me, and why, and what purpose my imprisonment is meant to serve.”
The member of the crew closest to her just rolls his eyes, muttering, “Whatever, princess,” under his breath as he continues on his way.
Nancy refuses to let her frustration show, because she is strong and stubborn and she will not be seen as anything other than rational and unafraid.
OR: A fairy tale retelling starring Robin Buckley as our pirate captain and Nancy Wheeler as our hero.

"Well, you're welcome then," the redhead smiles. The girl puts her hands into her jacket pockets, feeling the flowers still in there.
"Hey," she calls to the redhead before she leaves. She pulls the flowers out of her pocket, slightly crumpled, and hands them to her, "for you, daisies."

How can I ask you out? She left unsaid. Maybe if she could woman up and ask someone out she could convince her heart to move on from Nancy. That was possible, right? That had to be possible, or else she was not going to survive these next four years.

Robin looked down at the image again. “You mean the light thing they do every year on New Year’s Eve?” she deadpanned. The girl nodded. “And you’re definitely not a spy?” Another nod. “What’s in it for me?”
The girl blinked, as though the question was foreign to her. Was Robin actually accidentally speaking a foreign language again? She did that sometimes, and everyone she knew hated it. Maybe this girl was just completely clueless.
“Look, here’s the thing,” Robin started, settling down on a log. “The kingdom and I are not exactly…well, let’s just say I’m not being invited to any balls anytime soon. So I can’t exactly waltz over there and put myself at risk without having something in return. That make sense to you, sunshine?”
