It all started with a flyer. The colors popped out, gaudy yet oddly charming, portraying what looked like a set of cartoon dentures with googly eyes on one side of the text and a bubble with beady eyes and a sharp-toothed grin on the other. Pamina Park seldom paid attention to the corkboard above her apartment building’s mailboxes, especially after a particularly draining day at work, but on that dreary Thursday evening in particular, the young woman couldn’t help but look up as she cycled through the usual circulars.
Even with the sub-par lighting, Pamina read the text with ease: “ARE YOU LOOKING FOR NEW SKILLS? DO YOU ENJOY BEING IN THE SPOTLIGHT? COME STUDY STAGECRAFT WITH INDUSTRY VETERAN CEDRIC ABADI! FRIDAY NIGHTS AT THE BEARDED DRAGON REC CENTER! 8 PM SHARP, PLEASE CALL AHEAD TO RESERVE A SPOT!”

It began with an alert in his email inbox- somebody had altered some code he wrote.
Not a particularly unusual notification for Grant to get, considering he had been a computer scientist for more than three decades. It was slightly more unusual, however, considering the notification said that the code had been modified by Grant himself- something he had definitely not done- and also considering the system being altered had been shut down more than eighteen years ago.From: C&A - LOCAL [HQ]
ALERT !
[1337 /usr/ai/agent/caine] DELETED....What the hell.
Or: Six people have been living their normal lives, entirely unaware of the copies of their consciousness trapped in a brightly-colored digital hellscape. That is, at least, until said copies escape the Circus, and six people wake up with both sets of memories, determined that the family they formed in a very different reality is one they will find again.

While she’s grateful to be surrounded by such surprisingly good company, there’s something about the mysterious Ringmaster that keeps making her uneasy. Will uncovering the truth be worth risking the fragile peace of this chaotic wonderland and everyone in it, AI included?

The faeire took the offered hand and shook it eagerly. "You can call me Caine! And this little scamp is...hmm..." He looked her over and hummed.
"Does he...not know her name?" Spike whispered to Wormo, who gave the best effort of a shrug as they could manage.
"....Pomni!" He snapped his fingers as though finally solving a puzzle that had long plagued him. "Her names Pomni. You hear that kid? What's your name?"
"Pomni." The little girl repeated nonchalantly, sticking her hands closer to the fire and humming a little song.
"Glad we're all on the same page."
