It's called petrichor," Tetsurou said as he stretched, Kenma hearing his back make an audible pop before he looked at him. "The smell of rain, it's called petrichor."
Kenma nodded as he got changed, pulling on his hoodie before laying down, waiting just long enough for Tetsurou to change before taking his hand, looking up to him. "You and your dumb science facts," he said, drawing circles into the other's palm.
"One of us has to be the science nerd," Tetsurou pointed out, smiling a little at Kenmas circles. "And it's definitely not going to be you."

“One more,” he said, his free hand cupping Keith’s cheek.
Keith felt his face heat up a little, but he leaned into the touch. Lance leaned forward and kissed him softly, and Keith kissed him back. He heard the clicking sound from Lance’s phone and knew that he’d taken a picture of them like that, but he didn’t care. All he could think about was Lance kissing him.
They pulled away from each other, suddenly aware of the people walking by, and they stood. Lance’s face was flushed red, and Keith could feel his own burning. “We should--” Keith started, unable to form words.
“Yeah,” Lance agreed, taking his hand and backtracking down the path.

The sun had just started to set when Keiji got to the store. The fading sunlight felt warm on his skin, and it made him frown. Despite the long sleeve shirt, it still burned a little. One of the curses to being a vampire, he supposed.
Though he guessed he couldn’t complain too much. Not having to sleep meant he got to spend more time with his love.

As though issued a challenge, Kenma pulled them into the sweets shop not too far from their apartment. “Your turn to stay,” he said, at which Keiji rolled his eyes. But he did as he was told, and Kenma returned a few minutes later with a small white box wrapped in green and gold ribbon.
“What’s that?” Keiji asked, trying to take the box.
Kenma held it against his chest, shaking his head. “A surprise for when we get home.”

“How about a bet?”
Keith paused.
“If I can make you fall in love with the holidays by Christmas night, you’ll take the shift.”
Keith snorted, turning to face Lance. He kept that vaguely annoyed smile on his face, but nothing could hide the gleam of interest in his eyes.
“You’re not going to make that happen.”
“Okay,” Lance shrugged. “Then what’s the harm of taking the bet?”
Keith’s eyes rose to the ceiling, thinking.
“And,” Lance rushed in, “and I’ll sweeten the deal. I’ll work New Years as well.”
Now that got Keith’s attention.
They had drawn straws for who would work New Years Day weeks ago. It was one of the worst shifts for a toy store. Being deathly hungover while listening to kids scream and toys screech was the stuff of nightmares. Keith had lost and was stuck with the shift.
A slow grin tugged at Keith’s lips. “You’re insane.”***
When Lance gets stuck with the Christmas shift, he immediately turns to Keith, a self-proclaimed Scrooge, to cover the shift. When Keith refuses, Lance offers up a bet. If he can make Keith fall in love with the holidays before Christmas, Keith will take the shift. Nonsense straight from a Hallmark movie follows.

It is Ratio’s turn to have few words, but not because there is nothing to say. There are too many words between them, roadblocks and speedbumps and hurdles, and he is a hunter, he does not slow down. He takes Aventurine’s chin between his thumb and forefinger and turns him to face him, to look straight in his eyes.
“You state the obvious, █ █ ██ █.” He speaks a name Aventurine has not heard in a very long time. “Use your words.”
Aventurine is trapped, held, a grounded peacock ensnared. Use me, the thought consumes him, becomes all that he is. A tongue of blue flame. Use me.
