(I'm currently working on a re-write. My writing was so fucked up when I first wrote this, it's kinda fucked now too but SO much more readable lol. Idk this story seems to fuck with my brain chemistry for some reason.)
'The Space Between Floors' is me trying to write a slow-ish burn queer romance between JJ and a girly pop working in the same building but living in very different worlds.
It starts with a quiet café moment (yk eye contact too long, vibes suspicious), turns into “just talking,” which then spirals into texting, yearning, and late-night emotional honesty. Unfortunately: marriage! Secrets! Feelings that were NOT supposed to wake up! It’s soft, it’s messy, it’s about wanting something you maybe shouldn’t, but wanting it anyway. Slow-ish burn (Not really slow burn but a more "we are both aware but we have to hold back because wtf is this timing), lots of restraint, lots of longing, and the kind of intimacy that sneaks up on you and ruins your life a little (a lot).
