Sonic The Hedgehog has fought many things he can’t outrun. Rivals that could match him in speed and skill. Time, reality, relentless infections. And he’s overcome every one with a grin and his friends. These friends know they can always trust Sonic to come when they need them, to do everything in his power to protect them, and to help them in any way he can. And it’ll stay like this forever – just friends having fun together and stopping Eggman’s schemes. Nothing could break them. Nothing could split them up. Nothing can beat them. Nothing can kill them.

Summary
No longer is the Overworld a place of freedom and creativity. Now, you learn your weapons before your letters, you learn to fight before you learn to walk, and the word “crime” has become obsolete. Powerful factions constantly fight over territory, resources, trade routes, and vendettas, and an army’s worth of people dies on the battlefield every day. No one is necessarily “good.” No one is a “hero.” Everyone is fighting to survive.
