Quiet spread over the beach; Law felt himself burning a hole into the sand. It only intensified when Luffy laughed, waving a hand full of meat in the air.
"I like it! Torao, we're pirate married!"
"No!" he spat back, face aflame, for once immune to the sad pout. Even his virtually non-existent dignity had limits. "No!" he said again when Luffy poked his cheek in annoyance from all the way across the table.
"Over my dead body."
Or, Law learns how to live again, little by little.

"It is." Luffy still marveled at the heart in his hands, his face scrunching up the way it did anytime he thought. He slowly reached out his hands, nearly shoving the heart to Law's face. "Here."
"What—" Law officially lost the capability to function as he watched Luffy's heart beating erratically under his nose.
"Take it back." Luffy laughed nervously, almost uncomfortably as he kept shoving the heart at Law. "Robin said you give people you love your heart. So here."
"Robin—she—" Law stuttered dumbfounded, a conversation he eavesdropped on coming to mind as realization finally dawned.
"For the love of god Luffy, she didn't mean it literally!"
Or, also known as the time Law believed the Strawhats conspired to give him the shovel-talk. (He was only sorta right.)

Instead of saying anything, Chimney simply reached for his back pocket, pulled out a small red-velvet box and slid it across the table until it came to a stop when it hit his mug. Buck's eyebrows nearly shot up to his hairline, he heard Hen let out a gasp and as Eddie and Bobby held in their breath. He slowly picked up the box and opened it, still finding himself surprise to see the shiny diamond ring displayed proudly inside.
"Wow, look Chim –" Buck started, not fighting it when Hen seemed to unfreeze and snatch the box from his hand "–I mean I'm flattered, really. But I am a happily taken man and diamonds aren’t really my scene."

Too late to revert it though. The damage is done. It's been bubbling over ever since Luffy stopped Doflamingo's foot from delivering the final blow. Since Luffy smiled in marvel back in Punk-Hazard. Since Luffy punched out the nobble back at Sabaody.

“Mmhmm,” says Sarah, and when Sam can tear his gaze away from Bucky, he sees that she’s fixing him with a sweetly compassionate gaze. He readies himself for some no-nonsense sisterly wisdom. In tones of deep sympathy, she says, “And you’re horny about it.”
Sam grits his teeth and grips the arms of his lounge chair. “I’m so horny about it, oh my god.”
Bucky is finally ready to make amends with himself, and specifically his body, but he might need to enlist some help. If that help involves kind of, sort of tricking an overworked Sam into doing some self-care and having some fun of his own, so much the better. Sam, meanwhile, is happy to help, it's just that helping Bucky is turning out to have the inconvenient side effect of falling for him too.

Sabo raised the right arguments with Garp; if they do join the marines, it would mean their death.
In between Ace and Luffy's fathers and Sabo looking enough like the both of them to be mistaken for blood brothers, they would all get executed the moment higher ups make the connection to who their father(s) is (are).Loving his grandsons more than he could ever be able to just stand aside as they get killed for something out of thier hands, Garp realises that forcing them to be marines would mean their dead. Doesn't mean he can't train them to take one marines when they do set out to sail.
Before he leaves them again in the Forests on Dawn Island, Garp gives each of his grandsons (as well as his revolutionary son, and a certain red-haired nuciance) a den-den bred from a white den-den and a regular one. Meaning they will be able to keep in contact without anyone intercepting the calls. The tide has turned just because of that, with a family sticking together no matter what.
