“Oh my god!” Soap’s mother exclaimed. “John, get over here, look at what's on the news!” She was loud enough that Ghost could hear through the phone.
“Soap,” Ghost cut in, trying to divert his attention, “Soap, stop. Stay where you are, don’t look.”
He ignored him, glancing at the TV to see that a news station was showing footage of a plaza outside of an important facility. Right in the middle of the square, strapped down to an old statue, was enough explosives to level the surrounding 10 blocks, at the very least.
Worse, though, so much worse, was a tall, well built man in all black military gear, hood pulled up and gloves covering his hands. Standing directly in front of the explosives.

Home on leave, Soap has to instruct Ghost on how to disarm a bomb over the phone. The pair make a good team - but not every mission can end well.

Summary
Set shortly after MWII ends, Soap and Ghost end up captured by a rogue group of cartel members and Hassan's old supporters near the border. They don't get rescued until nearly a month later. Suffering from wounds both physical and mental, the two find themselves lost without the military life to guide them. Together, they struggle to navigate life with challenges they've never experienced before, growing closer all the while.
