Nick made sure his backpack was sealed and the hood of his jumper secured over his head before he departed the bus. He was the only one getting off at this stop and he paused under the bus stop's roof as the bus left him there. He’d hoped he would see something, anything, to jog his memory, but nothing called out to him. He was only six the last time he’d been anywhere in the area. He barely remembered what the house looked like, let alone the surrounding area. He could remember the kitchen most of all, the time spent baking his with Mum, standing in the little kitchen, an apron tied around his waist. They were probably his favorite memories of being here, the little pleasant ones he had.
(Or Nick grows up with his Dad in Paris and when he gets kicked out, he runs away to Kent to find his mum and ends up finding Charlie along the way)
