"I don't know about you, but it drives me crazy that these characters, no matter how hard they try, always meet tragic ends. That's why I wrote this story with the intention of giving them a chance at happiness. To achieve that, of course, they'll be a little out of character (I think I'm writing the least 'Rene' Rene of all the alternate universes, but oh well). I hope you like it!
The story explores what would have happened if Andrew hadn't listened to his sister and saved Nina, and if Rene had taken her children's behavior seriously. Those are the themes I want to touch on here."
