The Radio Demon managed to manipulate everyone (including his coworkers, enemies, himself and even his voice actor) into thinking he has his shit together.
Vox didn't even try. He turned off his cameras, withdrawed himself from the airwaves and finally left his long time archenemy alone, admitting defeat.
It's a good thing. Right?
Then why exactly was Alastor just now beginning to lose his mind?𓆱⌖𓄋⌖𓆱
Or: Alastor understands darkness like no one else and stops Vox's suicide attempt via channeling his truest, greatest power - ragebaiting.

Obviously - revenge! And although revenge is a dish best served cold, he will prepare it extra hot and spicy today. And keep the room for dessert.In other words, Alastor cashes in on his scheme and breaks free. Vox gets to see all the demons of their past and present and a new light is shed on their little falling out eons ago.
Also, Alastor's soul is owned by Lilith because that whole Rosie thing is pissing me off, wdym them being besties was a lie???

Summary
Alastor himself visits Imp City. He wants some unresolved tensions up there to get - well - resolved. And he just recently learned that there's a hitman in town who can lend him a hand with that matter.
Although, there are certain things about the hitman that pop up uninvited along the way (clue: they hoot in their sleep). It's not an issue for Alastor. He values a good entertainment more than anything else. He might just wanna get involved, too.
And pull some strings. Limbs. You get the idea.
Tl;dr Alastor is Stolitz' wicked shipper. In his own ways.
