“It’s disgusting, isn’t it?” Homura tilts her head back, eyes on the stars, dotted between strung lanterns. “To celebrate a time like this, sending their youth out to fight each other. Celebrating human lust for power, their greed, their—are you crying?”
Madoka shifts one gloved hand upwards to wipe at her eye. “Of course I am,” she whispers. “I’m sad.”

Summary
For the Incubators, a diagnosis of "mental illness" is as simple as having a personal interest outside producing negentropy – for example, in wordplay. Kyubey, the assigned Incubator for Mitakihara City's magical girls in their fight against wraiths, is diagnosed with an unnecessary emotion after making an unprompted joke, and scheduled for execution and replacement. It accepts gracefully, knowing its death serves the purpose of fighting entropy... right up until it can't.

Uraume is the only one who appreciates a simple fact; a cornered animal won't bite the hand that feeds it. The demon boy might refuse verbal communication and conforming to basic manners, and he might be crass, loud and willing to eat anything he can fit into his mouth - edible or not, but being picky about friends isn't a luxury enjoyed by Uraume.
