Summary
Hansol swore he’d never be like his father. Twenty-two sober years later, he breaks that promise. Now, at twenty-seven, he sits at AA meetings under flickering lights in a school gym, coffee tasting like guilt, silence hanging like a sentence. Then Chan appears, steady, kind, infuriatingly patient.
A story of falling apart quietly, and maybe, slowly, being forgiven for it.

Summary
His father’s love had always been conditional.
Full of ifs and maybes and do betters, it was frigid and it was sharp and it was calculated. There was nothing given freely, not a single word of comfort offered out of care. His love was always praises filled with double meanings and hidden twists that said, not bad, but I expected more. It was warm and sweet tones that turned cold behind closed doors and made Akashi hold his breath, because the stones on the rings his father wore looked heavy and he didn’t want to try his luck. They never even came close to him, but he always braced himself. Just to be safe.
(Or a study of Akashi Seijuurou, and what basketball really was to him.)
