They started the dance silently. She wondered why he had bothered to ask her to dance at all if he didn’t want to talk. There was so much left to say, but none of it in polite company. And, most importantly, none of what she had to say mattered now. They were both married.
“I almost forgot to congratulate you-”
“You do not need to.”
“But I must-” She insisted.“I’d really rather you didn’t.” He said sternly. Colin’s face was unreadable as he couldn’t meet her eyes. Instead she stared at his clenched jaw. She supposed she wouldn’t have wanted his congratulations either after her own wedding, not that he tried to offer any.

Colin Bridgerton is a rather popular travel influencer on Instagram and contributor to GQ magazine. He goes home for the holidays to visit his family after a particularly long stretch abroad. Somehow, he ends up going on an all-expenses paid trip to a little slice of heaven in the Caribbean with his best friend, Penelope Featherington. He’s not used to traveling with another person, but he finds himself rather looking forward to the time away with her even if he’s not sure what to expect. He expects it will all go according to plan. What could possibly go wrong when embarking on a trip with your best friend after all?
Penelope works in a junior position at a publishing house in London, scraping her way financially through young adulthood. She’s also doing her best to get over her decade plus long infatuation with her best friend Eloise Bridgerton’s older brother Colin. Somehow, she finds herself agreeing to accompany him on a trip to Turks and Caicos after the Christmas holiday. Summary
Colin Bridgerton has always been a playboy. Jumping from one girl to the next. He swore he would never settle down. Thus, finding himself in a dilemma when a wealthy relative leaves him a large sum of money and only one stipulation, he has to marry.
Everyone laughs at the thought of Colin settling down, so he plans the ultimate scam. Pay a stranger to marry him, get a quick divorce and live out the rest of his days bathing in his riches. He has the plan but now he needs the girl, which he soon finds to be more difficult than he expected. But what happens when he meets the perfect girl to do the job, but she's just a little too perfect?
