    Troy's head hurt. His father was here, in his city, asking to see him.
    Whatever it was it must be important, since the last time the two had spoken he'd told him to stay away, and the only proper interaction they've had since was a text to say his father was divorcing his second wife. Good for her.
    “I take that silence as a yes, you'll come to dinner. Don't bring your… friend; family and business only. Kill it on the ice on Friday, you don't want to disappoint your father whilst he's entertaining clients”
    The line went dead before he could formulate a response, so instead he just dropped his head into his hands and let out a long sigh. Fuck.
    He'd really hoped for a quiet weekend after the game, some quality time together before the next stretch of road games. Now he would have to spend all week preparing to see his father, and all weekend getting over it.

    Troy is having a bad day. Potentially the worst day ever. His father is back on the scene, despite his attempts to move on and forge a different path.
    Sometimes standing up against your past is enough to alter the future in unexpected ways.
