Summary
The life and times of Clint Barton, code name 'Marksman', and Phil "Kingfisher" Coulson. The deadliest pair in SHIELD (barring Natasha because she doesn't need to be in a pair to be very deadly) have worked together for years. Eight years to be exact, if you don't count the two they ran into each other and worked together before Clint signed on with SHIELD to be a Specialist. They have a purely professional dynamic—or as professional as Clint can get while flirting—and will keep it that way.
Or, at least, until a small move of letting Clint Barton find out that Coulson can participate in SHIELD-brand office humor. Then the gates have been released and everything can and will change between them.
This is their life, as crazy, hectic, cliched and anything else it could be. At least you're not the one living it.

And of Steve and Bucky's, and other people's as they appear. Coulson is afraid he's too boring and Clint that he's not classy enough. They are both wrong.
