Vanitas had given a lot of thought to how he would die, and he knew it would never be in someone else’s place – as far as he was concerned, that was their problem. He sometimes wished Luna hadn’t uprooted their little mess of a family, tearing them away from France and leaving them stranded in the middle of nowhere in Washington, but it hadn’t been his idea and complaining rarely got him anywhere fast. Just a while longer in university, and he would finally be done with the damned small town life. Forks, population 3,120; what a joke.

Lance snorts, the sound quick and amused, like the question itself is ridiculous. “Pretty non-existent.”
“Hm.” Pidge doesn’t look at him. “Thrilling.” There’s another pause. “Keith?”
Keith lifts a hand vaguely, the one not currently holding his drink, waving it off without much thought. “Same.”
Pidge finally turns her head again. Just stares at them. Then rolls her eyes so hard it’s almost audible. “I wonder why that is.”
