Summary
Rising twelfth grader Rey is working at the local library for the summer. Her favorite respite from the heat is a trip to Maz's Ice Cream Parlor. One afternoon, she meets Ben there. He's much older than her, an actual MAN and not a boy, so it wouldn't make sense for him to be interested in her, right? She's just a kid after all.
I got the idea for this when looking at prompts for Sucktember 2022 on Tumblr. Yeah, I guess I got a little too excited about it. I haven't written a true one-shot in a long time--they always turn into multi-chapters, but I was determined to get this into just one. (But don't hold me to that LOL). I wouldn't be totally closed to writing more in the future, but for now, it's not high on my list.
Anyway, enjoy Strawberry Rey and blue collar Ben. :D
