Miles is not a von Karma, but he knows reading the autopsy report until his eyes burn can at least make him a passing imitation.
And yet, despite all the evidence, despite his dedication and his meticulous preparation, his stomach churns.
At the stand, Fey’s eyes are red. He doesn’t know if they’re bloodshot from lack of sleep or time spent fighting off tears, but experience tells him it's likely both. Miles shivers.
Maya Fey is only a child. She wouldn’t—couldn’t—have done this to anyone, much less her own sister.

It's the end of a crazy, seemingly impossible case involving time machines, jetpacks, and double weddings, but something is bothering Phoenix Wright about his childhood best friend and opponent Miles Edgeworth. Miles, earlier on in the case, mentioned he was not dating anyone and wasn't planning on getting married, and when the Judge brought this up in court (for some reason; possibly gossip), Miles was disgusted at the idea of being wed. Why was this such an issue? Phoenix has had his suspicions that Miles perhaps didn't want to settle down, but now with it out in the open, was Phoenix's chance of being with Miles shot down before he could even try? To answer this, he decides to ask Miles himself, at least in a roundabout/unrevealing way.
