He hadn’t told Rozanov, why would he? They’d exchanged their usual quips in the days leading up to the game, riffing about who would win, how many goals they’d score. But underlying it all was the knowledge that they’d end the night in each other’s arms. Shane refused to admit it, but that might have been part of the reason he was so determined not to get sick. If it was any other game, any other team… It had been four months since he’d seen Rozanov. Four months of convincing himself he would finally end it, while simultaneously counting down the days until they would see each other again-- until this game. When Rose comes to visit Shane and Ilya for Labour Day weekend, Shane imposes a no sex rule. The walls are thin and he's just not comfortable with the idea, okay? Ilya thinks this is the stupidest thing he's ever heard and is intent on getting Shane to crack. So what if he's maybe acting a tiny bit possessive? He's not jealous. Russians do not do this.
