Summary
Katara has decided to go off on her own, pretending to be a royal servant for the Royal Family of the Fire Nation. Her goal? Infiltrate the palace and get as much information about Firelord Ozai and the Royal Family in hopes of finding a way to help the Avatar take Fire Lord Ozai down. It's dangerous, reckless, and downright stupid, but what could go wrong? As she walks amongst the other servants, she catches the attention of Prince Zuko, the broody, emotionally unavailable son of the Firelord, and even though he fights it, he can't help but drift towards her.

Summary

Having broken a valuable tea set, she has to work off the debt, enduring her new surly co-worker and unexpected, but not unwanted, feelings that arise from his proximity.

Summary
Left behind at the Misty Palms Oasis, Katara waits days for Aang, Sokka, and Toph to return. But when bounty hunters close in, her only chance at escape comes from the last people she ever thought she could trust: Zuko and Iroh.
Now traveling under false names, bound by a fake marriage, and with no room for mistakes, Katara finds herself on the road to Ba Sing Se. What begins as mutual distrust slowly turns into eating side by side, sleeping even closer, and something far more dangerous: comfort. She thinks it will end once they reach the city, but in a place crowded with millions of refugees, and stuck in the Lower Ring, she doesn’t have much hope of finding the others. With no leads and nowhere else to go, she resolves to wait for her friends to find her.
But in their cramped apartment, days turn into weeks, and Zuko and Katara begin to settle into something that almost feels like domestic bliss. It isn’t real. Or at least, it isn’t meant to be. But the longer they stay, the harder it becomes to remember where the act ends and something real begins.

After the Agni Kai, Katara flees the capital with Zuko and takes him to the safety of Ember Island to await news from the others.
Zuko's lightning damage is extensive, and it is decided that he should stay there to heal, away from the stress and dangers of the palace.
Katara remains with him as his healer, and during his recovery, they grow even closer.
