Summary
Nick Nelson, 24, is struggling to process the massive change of direction his life has taken in such a short period of time. Money is tight and his mental health is frayed.
His friends and family are worried about him, but he's fine, just fine. Honest. His best friends, Tara and Darcy, persuade him that the solution to his money worries is to rent out his spare room for 6 months. He just needs to find someone suitable.
Charlie Spring, 22, is fed up of being walked all over by his (ex) boyfriend. He needs to move out of their shared flat ASAP if Ben is ever going to accept that they are over. He just needs to find somewhere affordable and, preferably, available immediately - not an easy feat in London. His sister suggests he should look slightly further afield. Kent sounds like a good option.

Summary
Charlie doesn’t have a thing for French guys. He doesn’t think. It’s just that he tends to fall for the same type of person.
The first time happens when he’s still a kid. His teacher sets up a penpal exchange with a French school, and Charlie gets paired up with a wonderful boy called Nick. Charlie ends up falling in love with him even though they've never met.
The second time happens years later, after Nick and Charlie have lost contact. Charlie is in uni and he desperately needs a French tutor to help him pass. A charming half-French boy called Nick volunteers, and Charlie falls in love again.
Maybe Charlie does have a thing for French guys. Half-French guys called ‘Nick,’ to be specific.

Summary
Charlie feels himself relax completely into the touch, and into the sense-memory of last night, splaying his now-warm hand across Nick’s stomach to feel him breathe. When he lays a head on his chest, he can feel Nick’s heart thudding steadily beneath him: it’s the rhythm Charlie lives his life to.
Or, a day in Nick and Charlie's lives.
