Dean’s laptop was completely broken. He’d tried everything he could think of – admittedly that was limited to shouting at it and pressing keys at random in the hope something would happen – but it remained resolutely unresponsive, the impassive black screen seeming to mock him as he raged.
There was only one thing for it. He’d have to borrow Sam’s. Without permission, of course.

Summary
Sam Winchester owns a bookstore called Winchester Books & Brews in New York. On his way home form work an arc of purple and green magic in the sky above Central Park draws his attention. He goes to help what looks like a dragon shifter who is severely hurt underneath one of the magnificent old trees in the park and heals him up with magic. The stranger is bloodied and dirty and Sam leaves as soon as he knows he'll live having long ago abandoned his hunter days. The stranger eventually finds him and a life that Sam could have never imagined unfolds as they end up battling two enemies that will only bring them more closely together.

Summary
“Stop it, Sam,” Dean groaned, pushing himself out from underneath the car and standing.
“Stop what?” Sam turned to keep facing Dean. He didn’t want this conversation to be over, not like every other time Sam had tried to talk to Dean in the last week.
“Stop asking if I need anything. Stop asking if I’m okay. I’m okay,” Dean said in annoyance, gesturing with his hands. He turned to Sam as he added, “Really, I promise,” so convincingly that Sam almost believed it.
After John's death, Dean blames himself, puts up walls, and barricades himself from love. Sam tears it all down.
