“Where’s Mu—where’s SecUnit?” He asked. He was trying to break himself of the habit of calling SecUnit by that name. It was private, after all.
“With ART,” Ratthi said, flinging himself into Gurathin’s arms, hugging him soundly, much to Gurathin’s startlement. He was always so affectionate, more so with time spent apart. “It’ll be back in a few cycles.”
“Who’s ART?” Gurathin tried to pull away, struggling slightly in the tentacles of Ratthi’s arms. His internal sensors picked up the same details as his human senses, but his augments cataloged them more precisely; the roughness of Ratthi’s stubble, meaning he hadn’t shaved in a few cycles, the shine of his dark eyes, his freshly clean smell.

"He came later" Gurathin: is he ex-CR? From another part of the Preservation Alliance? Another non-corporate polity?
Maybe questioning the CR enough to leave means he's unusually aware of Preservation's policies and procedures and is willing to continue his stick-it-to-the-man track of social change. Perhaps he simply has a fresh perspective being from another non-corporate polity. Maybe he had his own Fugitive Telemetry-esque experience obtaining Preservation citizenship.
In any case, Gurathin platonically marries a possibly absurd number of people to help them get full citizenship on Preservation.
