    Elves reproduce once every twenty years, leading to something of a mating season for them. After traveling through space and time, though, Holly's biological clock runs at a different time than the rest. Some time after Artemis and Butler return from Mars, Artemis has started to live on his own and has invited his closest friends for a visit. Holly spending much of that time alone with him is enjoying her first genuine vacation in ages when she realizes it's likely to be cut short with the need to go back underground to sort herself out. Instead, a different decision is made.
