Close enough for Jisung to discover that he smelled like mandarins and old-growth forests. Close enough to see auburn flecks in his eyes, despite the darkness. Jisung clutched at Minho’s shirt, and felt the warm, taut muscles beneath for a half second before Minho’s lips were on his and god, they felt amazing."

There are steps in the corridor outside Hyunjin's room and he hears them slow down through the ventilation strip at the bottom of the door. It’s only half an inch wide and covered in steel netting.
“We have to let him out of there soon,” Jisung says, his rich voice gentle with concern.
“You know what happens if we do,” Seungmin protests, a resigned sigh.
“But he’s been in there for three days,” Jisung still tries. “He’ll go insane without any stimulation.”

But then Jisung goes on. ”Oh, you should kiss Felix!”
Hyunjin blinks at him, not quite comprehending what was said. But then he feels the smile find his lips on its own and he ends up laughing, the familiar name coming out a little high-pitched in disbelief. ”Felix?!”
He glances over at the younger man, who looks just as stunned as he does, shiny lips parted in surprise and beautiful eyes made even bigger with disbelief. Felix meets his eyes and can’t keep from laughing either. It’s almost too easy.
OR: Hyunjin has to kiss his best friend for a dare. It's... A little too good.

Summary
“Did you guys talk?” Chan asks.
“Yeah.” Felix ducks his head, can’t help it. He schools his expression before he faces him.
“Anything I should know?” Chan sounds neutral, kind even. But the words trigger something inside Felix, a deep panic. He can already see the headlines, because he saw them, plain and loud and awful, just not about them. Can see the tears in his member's eyes for a second as if this is the foregone conclusion of the path he’s now walking on.
“No, nothing,” Felix lies and wants to throw up. “We’re good.”
OR
Felix and Hyunjin keep their relationship from the other members. Until they catch on.

Summary
“Yongbokkie told me you’ve been sleeping together?”
Later, Hyunjin will be amazed at how immediately his brain registers the words. There’s no delay, no puzzled look over to Seungmin while his mind is trying to catch up. The understanding waltzes into him, sudden and complete.
“It was just something to take the edge off,” Hyunjin croaks, not even sure where the lie comes from, and his own words make his stomach turn with how wrong they are. He’s like an actor playing a part he was clearly miscast for. He wants to be sick. He wants to run.

Summary
Hyunjin stays. Eventually, when it’s less than an hour to Seungmin’s arrival, they climb out of bed and shower, and Felix opens all the windows to air the apartment out. They both can’t help blushing as they clean what they can, removing all traces of how they spent their hours, and then the giggles come, and Felix loves every second of it.
Loves the way Hyunjin looks at him now, the intimate gaze of a lover, of someone who knows you inside and out, and where that knowledge is not met with shame.

Hyunjin and Felix finally give in to what's pulling them together. And they're happy. Until they're not.

“Hyunjinnah,” Felix calls him just before he leaves the room, biting his lip. “My friends want to go out again tonight, they want to try the new club just around the corner from last night’s.”
Silence falls between them again. It’s a weird thing, a curious thing, as if Felix has been speaking in code and waiting for Hyunjin to decipher the meaning.
“Tonight?” Hyunjin asks stupidly to buy time. His heart thumping in his throat.
Felix nods. “Yeah if—, if you and your friends want.”
Still, the question is too big, a second hidden in the first like a Trojan horse. Felix waits for an answer, body tense and eyes big.
Hyunjin nods, heart in his throat. “Yeah, sure. I’ll ask them.”

After weeks apart, Felix and Hyunjin find themselves alone at the dorms.

Summary
“Hyunjin told you?” Felix asks and doesn’t quite manage to keep the bite out of his words even though he’s not angry at either of them.
They stop at a red light, their little group dispersed by other tourists. Felix can still see the top of Hyunjin’s head.
“Don’t be mad,” Jisung mumbles.
“I’m not.” It’s a lie and they both know it. Jisung just doesn't know that it has nothing to do with Hyunjin telling him. Felix swallows, clenches, and unclenches his fists, but it doesn’t make it any better. Anger at the start always has this satisfying note to it, as if the anger is justified and righteous, and that’s before the notion that it stands for something else becomes too strong, that anger is just a mask for pain.

Jeongin makes a careless comment, and both Felix and Hyunjin spiral.

Summary
It’s different now. Because now Felix has to rediscover the line between them, the one where he is allowed to touch, but not too much. Cuddle, but nothing too intimate. Hyunjin’s hipbone presses uncomfortably into Felix’s side, the fabric of his pants rough against where his shirt has ridden up, and all Felix can think about is how smooth the skin underneath feels. That he knows what it feels like against his own naked skin. Hyunjin’s weight on him is familiar in a different way, something none of the others have experienced.
At least that’s what he believes until the thought hits him, suddenly and with an impact that makes him clench his hand in the fabric of Hyunjin’s shirt.
He doesn’t know if he’s the only member Hyunjin has slept with.

SKZ are filming their vlog for Stayweek, and Felix realizes something.

“I know I’ve said a lot that it doesn’t have to mean anything,” Felix panted, pulling away and looking up at Hyunjin. “But this does mean something to me. I like you, Hyunjin. I like you so much.”
Hyunjin wanted to smack himself so hard, wanted to make sure this wasn’t actually a sick dream. Maybe he should walk to the window, jump right out of it. He’d never forgive his brain if this wasn’t real. His heartbeat was knocking wildly in his chest, pounding so hard he was certain Felix could hear it.
