The Russian pet name set a firework off inside Shane's mind as he heard it cooed from behind him. The intonation was just as he remembered, but the voice was much deeper.He turned and felt himself short circuit. It took every ounce of willpower to not let his jaw drop cartoonishly to the floor. Shane would recognize his individual features anywhere, even after 5 years. Shane didn’t hear from Ilya again for the rest of the day. He had just crawled into bed, and was about to slip on his glasses on to read the book from his bedside table when his phone buzzed
The message he found when he opened their thread was not what he expected
Lily: I think you packed wrong shirt by mistake.
The photo was Ilya’s hands holding Shane’s white t-shirt. He stared at the picture as heat rose to his cheeks, biting his lower lip as he tried to figure out what he should respond. Before he could start typing another message appeared.
Lily: This one is too small for me.
Shane scowled, his embarrassment quickly turning to annoyance.
Jane: It is not. We are the same size.
Lily: Uh, no. We are not. I am bigger than you.
Jane: Asshole. You are not.
Lily: You have seen me without shirt. Do not pretend.
