It's not exactly the situation he hoped for, but when he feels the connection between them, he can't bring himself to resent them. As much as he wishes his soulmate would just talk to him, he's resigned himself to being patient. In the meantime, he has a loving family and good friends to help him get by.
Keith Kogane dreads the day he'll finally meet his obnoxious soulmate. He's just an art student who's struggling to find his place in the world. There's so much he hasn't been able to control in his life, and the thought of having a soulmate, just another thing in his life which he also has no control over yet can't do anything about, is a little terrifying. So he ignores the words that occasionally appear on his skin. He has other things to focus on: like being a new student at a big university where his childhood friend and step-brother go.

Bringing his head back around, his eyes widened when he saw what lay beyond. It was some way ahead of him, probably about fifty feet, and ran across the entire horizon like a dark, tangled ocean. Twisted, gnarled trees covered in hanging vines of every size almost beckoned the Galra to enter, whilst at the same time, filling his heart with a feeling of dread that whispered 'turn back'.
"The end of the world," he breathed, taken back by the size of the forest before him.
The world of Baldŷr had long been plagued by the mighty force of the Galra. Their empire spread across almost the entire mainland continent, only halted by an impenetrable forest - known to them as the End of the World. Anyone who ventured into its dark depths never returned, and thus it was left alone as a place only fools with a death wish would go to... so why would the Blade of Marmora send a rescued half breed to the border which harboured such tales?
Warning: Whilst this is a Klance fic, it is more focused on the fantasy adventure side until I have written later chapters. The Klance will be extreme slow-burn, so keep that in mind when reading. Thanks:)

After Keith and Shiro are taken hostage for their father's loyalty to Empress Allura... a lot of bizarre things start to conspire. They are forced to live as guests in the royal palace, and are subjected to the affectionate stares of Allura's brother, Lance. If that wasn't weird enough, Lance's nymphal genes start to wreck havoc on his life. Lance had always been prone to falling in and out of love, but he had never crashed so hard. His daily reveries are filled with thoughts of Keith, the youngest son of Zarkon who was known for being The Most Beautiful Man Alive. The nymph in Lance wants nothing more than to fall in love with and be loved by Keith Kogane, but there's no way he can do that, especially when his nymphal genes start to backfire.
Lance becomes legitimately lovesick, and the only cure is to confess his love, and have it returned. But how can he do that when even his illusions of Keith are telling him not to?
