    Ahsoka stayed silent as she let her Master guide her through the hallways of the Resolute. She could feel his hand on her back. Could feel the gentle waves of comfort he was trying to push through her tightly wound shields.

    Part of her wanted to let him in. Let him dive into the raging waters of her mind, and pull her out from the depths she was sinking to. Where he'd wrap her up in the warm towel of his embrace, and his comforting words would pat dry her sodden soul.

    But another part of her—the part of her that wanted to welcome this numbness, keep herself anchored to it so that she would never have to feel the pain of suffering and anguish ever again—wouldn't let her.

    So here she stayed. Drowning silently like a lungfish trapped in a tank as Anakin walked her down the hallway.

    From Cody's tone, he must've been calling his name a few times already. Obi-Wan blinked, somehow needing a moment to regain his bearings.

    "Sir?" Cody was asking him. "Are you alright?"

    Obi-Wan nodded. Though, betrayingly, his nose decided to start running again in that moment and he sniffled, reaching up to wipe his nose with the back of his hand. Feeling his cheeks heating (or maybe it was just his fever increasing), he quickly replied, "Yes, Cody, i'm fine."

    Cody's eyes narrowed.
