Little note: I didn't change the gender of the main character to make it straight. I wanted to experiment with the experience of being a woman in that kind of future and I'm not a fan of the canon shippings, that's all. Have fun reading :)

Zuko knew that moving away with his Uncle Iroh would help him start a new life, away from his abusive father, who permanently maimed him for being gay. Being a server at Uncle Iroh's tea shop isn't what he thought he'd find himself in his early twenties. He also didn't think he'd find love again until some weird guy started to stop by every day in (failed) attempts to flirt with him.
Life was looking up.
Until a certain figure from his past comes crashing back into his life, trying to destroy his happiness.
