Many like to think when they give—when they help—they do so out of the kindness of their hearts. I don’t believe in such fantasies. Even if it’s for the gratification of your own ego, your own self, we all do things expecting something in return.”
She looked at him as if she was finally taking him seriously.
“I need something from you, just like you need my skill to get you out of here. I’m offering a give and take deal.”
