    Ever found yourself reborn into a fantasy world? No? Good. It had been way too long since Ellie last thought about the Percy Jackson series to remember it properly, and she didn't even get any reincarnation-patented buffs and lifehacks. 3/10, would not recommend.

    Theo blinked, and from one moment to the next, he had disappeared from his bedroom and appeared in the flaming wreck of a car crash. He had no idea how he had gotten here, or where "here" even was.

    Then, there's a fire breathing tiger calling him a demigod, and the spontaneous teleportation was only his second biggest issue.

    In a deadly world with even deadlier knowledge, Theo should just eat a lotus flower and let canon take his course. But, with everything he knows about the plot, knowing exactly what all his favorite characters were going to lose and suffer through...

    Well, Theo can't bring himself to ignore it all.

    Against Gods, Titans, and Fate itself, it's a feeble imitation of hope he has, but it's a kind of hope nonetheless. He's not strong enough to make the future perfect, but hell if he isn't going to die trying.

    The only thing more depressing than being reborn into the Hunger Games universe, was being reborn into it decades before its fucked up system would falter, fail, and fall.

    At least, she thought that was the worst of it before being reaped for the 53d Hunger Game. Turns out, things could always, always, get worse.

     

    (The underdog SI fic, but it's not District 12, it's not the right era, and there's no handy hunting past to rely on.)

    'Who lives, shall see.'

    Maria gets reborn in a young adult novel before the main character is a thought in her mom's mind. So, with no Mockingjay to save the country, she'll just have to wait things out until Katniss gets to the games.

    Unfortunately, that plan doesn't work when she volunteers in a twelve-year-old's place seven years before Katniss does, and now she's stuck in the 67th Hunger Games.

    Murder puts a bad taste in her mouth, but so did the tesserae. Augustus won't be winning these games if she has to brick him herself.
