Summary
He doesn’t look like a killer, is Wilbur’s first thought upon seeing Tommy Innit outside of a picture for the first time. It’s a bit silly, really. Hardly anyone looks like a killer. They just are.

Summary
“What the fuck, man. That’s- are you on drugs or something? Have you seen me? I’m a fucking street kid, do you think I’d live in the slums and sell drugs if I had fucking magic?!” Another laugh, sounding as brittle as the one before. Tommy felt faint, looking at Niki and Sam with a wild gaze. “I never- I can’t do magic! Don’t you think I’d have noticed it before if that was the case?!” He paused, taking a deep breath. Then he gripped the stretcher again as he was afraid of falling down otherwise with how the room was suddenly spinning.
OR
Tommy expects many things after he’s been caught selling drugs of a rival gang in the Syndicate’s territory. Suddenly being able to do magic isn’t one of them, nor is finding his previously unknown father.

Summary
"Why is what here?" Wu feigned innocence, realizing what was going on and desperately hoping he was wrong.
"That thing," He sputtered, making a vague gesture towards Zane, who judging by the new devastation in his eyes, was realizing what was happening as well.
"Zane?" Jay stepped forward. "He's part of the crew, and if you think he's going anywhere, then-"
"Zane, leave."
The words felt like fire on Wu's tongue, burning the android alive. Zane's voice trembled slightly as he spoke, moving into a slight bow.
"Yes, Sensei."
------------
An engineer visits the Bounty to strike a deal with Wu, but the crew discovers he thinks less than kindly of sentient androids.

Summary
It was Family Day.
The V.Ks were milling around, subtly sticking together, pretending they couldn't feel the gazes on them, judging, suspicious.
None of them had wanted to come. They hadn't wanted to subject themselves to this—a day of unease, of bearing the weight of the people's distrust. They hadn't wanted to spend the entire day walking on eggshells, shoulders hunched and faces sullen, made to carry guilt that didn't belong to them.
They couldn't seem too happy, smile too widely, or laugh too loudly. They needed to play the part of the reformed reprobates: all too aware of their crimes, and trying to atone all the same.
Except, they'd committed no crime. There was nothing for them to atone for. The group had spent their entire lives imprisoned for their parents' misdeeds. Misdeeds which the children had paid the price for ten times over.
It wasn't fair.
Yet there they stood.
Or
The Isle was hell, and the VKs know it. No one else really does, though. Not really.
Persephone decides to show the gathered crowd something they never expected, something worse than they could have imagined.Ignorance is bliss, but now they know.

Summary
There is a boy. He's small, grimy; his clothes hang loosely, bits of fabric that swallow up sharp ribs. He is no different from any of the others on the Island. He walks and talks and smells the same.
Except: his eyes.
They're dark, almost black, peering out from between dirt-darkened skin. His eyes, which should be vacant or terrified. His eyes, which dart every which way, bright as a spark (as an ember) (as a match against the night).
(Mal is six, so far from being the woman she will become, but that doesn't change what she is (the only thing dragons love more than gold is playing with fire)).
He doesn't look different, doesn't act different, but in his eyes--well. He's something else.
~OR~
I didn't expect my other Descendants fic to get so popular. I actually said "well no one will read this but here goes anyways" as I hit post. And then? It's the one with the most reads??? And you guys somehow surpassed 1,000 hits??????
Anyways, here's the prequel no one asked for but hopefully you guys will enjoy reading anyways. It's more dark & gritty Isle, but with a happy (ish?) ending, because let's be real, I can never resist one of those.
