He doesn’t know what they feel like for Jon, besides his usual description of “absolutely shitty”, but for him they look more like a quiet withdrawal, a cease in his ability to respond or react, and what seems like a general sense of dread and despair. They happen at different times too; like after they’re all safe and celebrating and suddenly he doesn’t see Jonathan with them anymore, because he’s in the bathroom trying not to throw up. Steve doesn’t know what Jonathan would do on his own, but when he’s with Steve he gets warm tea, close cuddles, and deep pressure until his brain accepts that there is no other shoe waiting to drop. Usually, a nap is in order, too. (Steve doesn’t have any tea this time, but he knows Jonathan has cool water in a bottle in their room and hopefully that’s enough.)
