Summary
Alicia could not save Gustave from her father's ambush, but she managed to keep him from dying. Having learned the truth about their world and the Paintress, he wants nothing more than to catch up to the rest of his expedition and warn them before they can inadvertently wipe out their own people, and the fact that he has just suffered a couple of technically-fatal injuies is not going to stop him.
On their journey to the monolith, Alicia and Gustave are joined by two unexpected and unlikely companions, but even Alicia cannot tell what exaclty her brother is planning, and between the injuries slowing them down and the lack of Esquie for transport, they may simply not make it before everything is lost.- Language:
