The bard circles him and grins. “Ancienthunter is a bit of a mouthful, if you ask me. Witcher is more of a statement— a strange word for a strange profession; as old as the beasts you’re hunting.”

Summary
Hundreds of years ago, soothsayers used to be a part of everyday life, but many of them became victims to men’s greed and bloodthirst, like so many other magical folks, leaving behind not much about their nature and abilities, but side notes and myths. There wasn’t a single one of them left. Or maybe just the one.

Jaskier wants to warn Geralt about the man in the winged helmet and reaches out to him in a way he never did before – through his dreams; ending up exposing himself and even though they are on different points of the Continent, they always stay connected.

Jaskier's start in life was unfortunate, but sadly not unheard of. He was put in a sack, less than an hour old, and chucked in the river. For many in his position that would of been the end of it, but the Yaruga heard his cut off wail and swept him into her loving embrace.
Less than an hour old and Jaskier had already died and been reborn as the newest child of Mama Yaruga.
