Mihawk never thought about death, he never needed to, he was strong. Never surrounded by people worth grieving, endlessly slaughtering marines whose lives to him were not worth caring for. The Future Worlds Greatest Swordsman lived his life to the fullest, as he thought Mother Nature instructed him to. Head straight facing his goal, a busy man never stopped to deal with things like grief. Mihawk was raised alone, he fought alone, he survived alone. Each step in his life, every breath, meant to climb the same bastardly path. Mihawk was fine in his routine, believing he was only meant to be the greatest.

Mihawk knew from the moment he saw Shanks Akagami walk in on his first day at the office wearing flip-flops and swaggering in cargo shorts, that the charismatic redhead would prove to be nothing but trouble. Of course, Mihawk is rarely—if ever—wrong, and Shanks proves to be exactly what Mihawk expects: trouble.
Irresistible, cocky, and good-looking trouble.
Yet, to Mihawk’s credit, he’s never shied away from a challenge, and he certainly won’t cower in the face of a man who smiles brighter than the sun and acts as if he’s god’s gift to man. If anything, Mihawk has something to prove, and it’s that he will not be just another among many who fall for Akagami’s charms. It doesn’t matter how hot Shanks is, or how intently he stares, or how infuriatingly easy it is for Shanks to dig under Mihawk’s skin—Mihawk will not be swayed.
Except, being swayed is the least of Mihawk’s concerns, especially when Shanks decides to rock his entire world instead.

"You're Zoro, Luffy's friend, right?" Shanks' approaches them.
Though, it seems some readers have requested a sequel.

Or; Mihawk fell in love with and got his heart broken by Shanks when they were teenagers. 19 years later, Shanks appears again and pursues Mihawk...who he doesn't seem to remember.
