Tommy tries to ignore it, turn his head away from the noise, but he hears a familiar voice reply to the little girl.
He turns around, and he sees a familiar face.
He knows it’s her because he could never seem to forget his mom.
-“We’ll be there in a minute.” Phil interrupts. “Are you safe?”
Tommy nods even though they can’t see him. “Mhm.”
Tommy hears a conversation in the background then a door closing. “Wanna stay on the phone?”
Tommy nods again, then stutters out, “Uh- Yeah.”
They’re really coming to get him.
-Or: Tommy sees his mother for the first time in almost ten years after she left him to be fostered. He freaks out, resorting to painful old thought patterns as his family try to help him the best they can.

Tommy rocked himself slowly, pulling himself into a more gentle hug. He couldn’t be alone right now.
The thought came easily. Wilbur.
The only person who was ever there for him, the only person who could be there now.
The thought comforted Tommy.
Or: Tommy can’t handle it all and he feels Big™ emotions. He’s hurting, and he calls on Wilbur to help him through it all. Tommy tries to feel better- but there’s something holding him back.

Tommy took a step back.
Then several.
Flashes of hostile memories blinded him, all too similar circumstances as this ending in the same way. Memories of tears and screams and that horrible smell.
Unlatching from Techno, Wilbur inhaled and exclaimed a little too loudly, “Tommy! My sweet baby, come here, sunshine,” Wilbur staggered forwards, reaching out to Tommy, “I love you so much, Toms, my-“
Wilbur hesitated when Tommy jumped back like he’d been burned.
Wilbur’s face fell into shock at the realization of what Tommy was thinking. What Wilbur had forgotten.
Or: Wilbur comes home drunk and forgets Tommy’s boundaries and triggers. Tommy has only ever seen the abusive side of intoxication and reacts accordingly. Tommy isolates himself, blaming himself for his reaction as Wilbur tries to get through to him.

Wilbur was a happy kid. Well, Wilbur was meant to be a happy kid, and he surely looked to be one. When was the last time Wilbur heard Tommy open up? How long has it really been since they last talked?

“Northern and Waterloo and City Lines, and National Rail Services. This train terminates at Stratford.”
Tommy watches the train fly by from behind the barrier. The lights disappear down the tunnel, marking another one he’s missed.

Summary
Tommy is the outcast of his small town. It's what happens when your father end up becoming the town legend for all the wrong reasons. And being the town outcast isn't easy, especially on Halloween, when everyone expects you to become your worst.
What Tommy didn't expect was the find seven ghostly sins in the oldest house in town. He didn't expect to make friends with them. And he never thought he'd get therapy from them either.
And on the flip side, the seven sins of the house never expected to find a human so un-human like. It was almost painful to watch. The boy didn't sleep, eat, care for himself, he never wanted anything, he didn't care about how others thought of him, he didn't hate the world and most importantly he didn't love himself.
Or: Depressed Tommy gets stuck in a house full of seven demons who have to show him the good side to the seven deadly sins.
