Lando was late again, by exactly one minute.
Oscar glanced at his watch, then at him. “Late. We start tomorrow.”
That set Lando off immediately. He hissed under his breath, furious, but careful not to shout inside the library.
“By a fucking minute?!”
“Irresponsible,” Oscar said flatly, as if Lando’s outburst barely registered.
Or, Lando Norris, a fourth-year business management student and captain of the university’s soccer team, is one failure away from being benched, which could also jeopardize his graduation. Oscar Piastri, on the other hand, is a third-year medical student, top of his class, a certified nerd, and brilliant enough to tutor. A university scholar that tutors for the money.
Oscar is Lando’s tutor. Lando, used to getting away with everything, money, a stellar reputation, a name that opens doors, has never had to struggle to stay on top. Oscar despises people like him. He hates that someone can coast through life on charm and wealth while others, like him, have to work relentlessly for every scrap of success. Lando embodies everything Oscar loathes.

Alex is convinced the divorce was just two emotionally constipated idiots refusing to talk — so he’s taking matters into his own hands. Expect meddling, sabotage, accidental therapy sessions, and an alarming amount of secondhand embarrassment.

"He swears then, at 2 am on a Friday when sleep still has not come that Mark can get lost with his terrible ideas. Contract or not, Oscar is not going to be in the same room as Lando Norris. Ever again. He also decides that he will train tomorrow, even though he does not have to, because even if a lot of people have let him down or made him feel terrible about himself, he knows that the moment he wins that driver’s championship he will be able to look at anyone who ever hurt him and say: “Look, I’ve made it, so who’s the looser now?”."
