“Eddie,” Gareth says, solemnly.
Eddie nods.
“I’m telling you now, even though I know it’s pointless, because you never listen to anything I say. Ever.”
Eddie nods again.
“Please. I am begging you. Do not fuck our new roommate.”
“Why the fuck would you say that?” Eddie hisses, cheeks aflame again. “What is wrong with your-”
“That’s all I’m saying,” Gareth interrupts airily, hands up in mock surrender. “No further objections. You’re just a natural disaster, and I’d rather keep the apartment a conflict free zone, so.”---
Eddie and Gareth require two new roommates (must be okay with illegally housed cats, must be chill with late night band practices). Robin and Steve require a place to live, and have little to no other options.
Months down the line, Eddie still finds himself tongue tied and avoidant around his very hot-probably-straight-weirdly-intense new cohabitation buddy, which is all very well and good- until they end up snowed in together during a powercut, and are forced to get a little cozy together <3- Language:

Summary
He used to enjoy his office. It was barely more than a supply closet with a desk shoved into it, but it was his space. Now it was their space. They'd decided on having their desks pushed together after it became clear they wouldn't be able to sit back to back without constantly bumping into each other. Steve seemed fine with it either way. He usually just flashed Eddie a smirk while smoothly flitting in and out of his seat, while Eddie with his always-torn-somewhere wardrobe and long hair kept getting stuck on the furniture and the wall of poorly tacked posters when wiggling out from behind his desk.
/ or Eddie thinks about his coworker slash rival a normal amount, and one sex dream does not change things... and neither does that thing that happened in the elevator!

Summary
The bartender winks at Steve when he slides his drink over, extra wedge of lime on top (which causes Steve to blush like a fucking virgin, and he hates himself for it). What is it about this guy that flusters him so easily? Maybe it's the effortless way he rules his domain behind the bar; confident and boisterous, his clever, dextrous fingers skimming the bottles as he pulls them from the shelves to mix drinks.
Steve’s distracted, watching him. The more he drinks, the more he stares.
The more Robin eyes him, warily.---
steve, robin, and a bucketload of unresolved tension walk into a bar (eddie and chrissy pine on the clock, gareth watches it unfold with minimal griping). everything stays unresolved until steve gets hit on, and eddie steps in as the world's best fake boyfriend <3
