    “Hear that, slimes?” Miya gloated. “That means I’m smarter than- huh?!”

    Reki and Langa made confused faces at Miya as Kojiro set their food down, but Kaoru couldn’t be bothered. Instead, he opted to close his laptop and dig into his carbonara while Kojiro made his way back to the kitchen.

    “What? What is it?” Reki asked, his mouth full of pizza. Kaoru wrinkled his nose at him.

    “Reki, don’t talk with food in your mouth,” he chided.

    “Cherry, you have a photo flashback from ten years ago?!”

    Kaoru took a deep breath.

    “I just-” he started, his voice trembling. “I miss you.”

    “I miss you too,” Kojiro replied softly. “I miss you so much, ‘Ru. I’m always wishing you were here with me so we could share all of these experiences together.”

    Once those words left Kojiro’s mouth, Kaoru couldn’t hold it together anymore. The tears he’d been holding back were now spilling from his eyes like little waterfalls. His breathing hitched and he began to sob, and he curled up even further into himself in his bed.

     

    In which Kojiro is in Italy and they're both feeling the effects of being away from each other.

    Jotaro pressed his lips against his head. “In a minute.”

    “What do you want to do first, then?”

    “Come with me.”

    Jotaro pulled him by the arm, to his surprise and delight, into the bathroom. He locked the door and pushed Noriaki's back against the wall. He stopped to look Noriaki in the eyes, asking for permission with his gaze.
