A good thirty seconds had passed, the creature… not brochette-ing him? For some reason?
Reopening his eyes, Ranboo looked at the monster for a few seconds before seeing it opening its mouth and hearing it…
“Hulloooo.”
…speak.
Because of The Accident, Ranboo has been forced to relocated his "home" to the beach, a good two-hour walk away from the town he originally came from.
However, soon after a massive storm passed by, a pair of mysterious eyes coming from the ocean started observing him every single night, and would only go away whenever he'd wake up the next day.
After three weeks straight of the eyes' presence, it was only natural for him to try and figure out what idiotic person would spend their entire night in the water only to watch Ranboo sleep, no?

Ranboo blinked. Hmm. Hold on. "I- sorry, I just thought that we- we agreed that patrol was- uh, you know, dangerous? And that, uh, maybe, going out as a vigilante is a bad idea?"
Tommy blinked right back. "Yup, we did talk about that, yes."
Hmm! "Well, it just seems that...maybe you forgot we talked about that? Because. Uh. That logo is a bit. Uh. Recognizable?"
Tommy flipped the shirt around to look at it, studying it for a good long while. "I see what you mean."

Since they've gotten away from the farm all Ranboo wants to do it settle down and live a normal life, maybe make some friends. Too bad literally everybody else doesn't want to do that.Series

Ranboo lashes his tail. Yes? No? He knows the human is familiar and comfort and happiness. But he does not know a name, or how they met before.
Ranboo shakes his head.
“Oh. Okay,” the boy takes a deep breath. Liquid glistens in the corners of his eyes, but he’s smiling when he looks back up. “That’s okay. I’ll help you. My name is Tubbo.”

Tubbo finds out about Ranboo's Enderwalk. This doesn't really change anything between them; Ranboo is still Ranboo, when he remembers and when he doesn't. Tommy's not so sure.
Ranboo, Tubbo, and Tommy cope with their trauma in different ways but they have each other's backs.
Set shortly after Tommy was revived in prison, and then diverges from Canon. Eventual happy ending!

High School AU where Ranboo and Tubbo are paired up for the tropey home-ec project where you take care of one of those robotic babies. And through the pain of group projects, a friendship is born. A school play, a wedding, some mild trespassing and vandalism, and way too many indie rock songs
(Title is from 400 Lux by Lorde, all the chapter titles are also songs!)
