Law wavers between answering him honestly, because lying to Luffy feels like a crime against humanity, and keeping his dark, sordid past to himself. “It’s a heart,” he deflects.
“You have many hearts,” Luffy observes. He pokes his right arm. “Are they for someone you loved?”

Sanji had a fight with Zeff and stormed out of the Baratie, but it doesn't matter that he is the best chef in the East Blue - no culinary degree no fancy place will hire him. He ends up as a line cook in diners, family restaurants and discovers the gimmick.
If you can eat this absurdly impossibly huge meal - your table eats for free.
He is appalled by the sheer concept.
And appalled that no matter what restaurant he ends up at, this scrawny gremlin man always manages to eat the meal. Appalled - definitely not intrigued in the least. Only a little intrigued. Perhaps a lot intrigued.

Luffy’s eyes are unfocused as he smiles at Sanji. Robin takes a measured sip of her coffee in the same amount of time it takes Luffy to bite clear through half of his sandwich.
Sanji swipes a few napkins off the table and sets about wiping crumbs from Luffy’s face. “I’m so sorry about him, Robin-chan.”
“It’s quite alright,” she says. And it is because there is something very sweet about the scene in front of her. Robin smiles. One out of seven lights click on.

“That’s me!” He shouted out. “Are you the doctor? They said that they were sending a doctor before dinner and I am really hungry, so if you are the doctor this means that I am gonna eat soon!”
The two men in the room groaned at that sentence and Law felt taken aback by the enthusiasm of the guy. He was either stupid or not aware of the gravity of his injury, if his only thought was dinner.
“Yes, I am the surgeon that will operate on you,” he answered. “My name is Trafalgar Law.”*
Law is a surgeon who needs some light in his life.
