First he’d started it all, and then —
He’d let it out.

"Everything and more."

Summary
Gwayne Hightower and Ormund Hightower have been mates for fifteen years, raising Daeron Hightower as their own son. Their family is loving but strained by Ormund's untreated OCD, autism, rigid routines, and violent outbursts, which have left Gwayne and Daeron constantly navigating his moods. After secretly researching his behaviour, Gwayne realizes Ormund needs professional help. Now pregnant after years of fertility struggles, Gwayne decides he can no longer ignore the problem. For the sake of Daeron, their unborn children, and their marriage, he confronts Ormund and demands that he finally seek help. But Gwayne does not expect just how much deeper Ormund’s struggles run as Ormund begins confronting his own past.

Summary
Their quiet not-quite peace had finally broken.
Ormund’s eyes came up at last, and there was nothing in them now but the particular cold fury of a man who has spent an entire day rationing his patience and has just been asked to spend more of it than he has left. And Gwayne was his usual target practice.
“You wish to take my place in this chair?”
“I have no desire to inherit your headaches, cousin.”
“Then stop adding to them!”
___
A dark, character-driven House of the Dragon series about power, repression, emotional dependency, political obligation, and the difficult possibility of choosing one another freely.
___
Also, usually NOT my cup of tea, but HOD-typical incest between Ormund/Gwayne. Read the tags, please. 🚨💚
