When I write this, I shall be 17 going onto 18 in a few weeks. I should hope Rigel never finds this and that this parchment is burnt at my return. My name is Regulus Arcturus Black, Second Son of the house of Black’s main branch family. I’m bound in soul and loyalty to James Fleamont Potter as of August 12th 1978 witnessed by my best friends Bartemus Crouch Jr, Evan Rosier, Pandora Rosier and Dorcas Meadows, and by my elder Brother, Sirius Black, and James’ close friends Remus Lupin, Peter Pettigrew, Lily Evans and Marlene McKinnion.
I have birthed the heir of the Houses of both Potter and Black, named Rigel Perseus Potter.

Summary
Regulus Black feels like he’s drowning. As if quidditch practice, slug club meetings and prefect duties weren’t enough, a recurring nightmare keeps him up at night and expectations from both his parents and a man calling himself The Dark Lord threaten to pull him under.
When Regulus’s failing grades result in having a potions tutor forcefully assigned to him, he finds himself involuntarily and unexpectedly drawn to the sullen, sharp-tongued Severus Snape.

Summary
James Potter hates Regulus Black; of that he's sure.
But when hatred and obsession melt into a blurred line, one he's not aware he's slowly crossing, he has to come to terms with who he truly is as a person and what he's willing to do.
And then school ends, and they're destined to be torn apart, splitting down the seams like a worn out sweater. James doesn't think he'll ever see Regulus again; he's happy about it. He's come to terms with it.
Except they do come face to face again- just on opposite sides of the war. When the Order captures Regulus, they give him two choices; face justice for the harm you've caused, or work as a spy for the Order of the Phoenix. When Regulus chooses the latter, James is suddenly faced with an onslaught of buried feelings he'd thought he'd burnt with everything else.

Watching James Potter—Regulus’ big, unanswered question—getting the certainty denied to Regulus, will be a bitter pill to swallow, and if he were a stronger man, he’d refuse. But he’s not a strong man either.
